Comanche-3™

Want to fly the ultimate multi-stage rocket? The Estes Comanche-3 is a unique three stage rocket with unbelievable performance! The first stage booster gets things going by kicking this monster off the pad. After a quick burn, the second stage is lit, then things get really exciting while the next two stages start to reach for the clouds. After a quick second stage engine burn, the third stage is ignited and the rocket streaks for some serious cloud topping altitude - over 1/2 mile (805 m) straight up!

The Comanche-3 stands nearly 3 1/2 feet (104 cm) tall and has many features that make it an easy weekend building project. Updated with laser cut balsa fins, molded nose cone and colorful, green and white waterslide decals, this great looking rocket is a must have for the serious rocketeer! The first and second stage boosters are tumble recovery, the third stage floats back to the ground with two huge colorful streamers. With the power of three engines propelling it...you know this ballistic bullet is going to deliver an awesome model rocket flying experience!

This Skill Level 3 kit requires a higher level of building experience. Building tools, finishing supplies, four AA alkaline batteries (for your controller) and Estes launch supplies required - sold separately. A 3/16 inch (5 mm) Maxi Launch Rod is also required - sold separately.

Designer Interview

Q: The Astrobeam appears to be quite a different rocket. Why is that?
A: Well, first of all, this rocket has bright LED lights built right on board. Not too many rockets out there "light up" and have five different light shows to choose from.
Q: That definitely sets it apart from other rockets. Why did you create a rocket with lights?
A: Being a true rocketeer and being in a rocket club, we always talked about how someone should create a rocket that was simple to build and could be launched at dusk.
Q: So you took the challenge?
A: Sure, I'm always up for a challenge, and besides I had a great time designing the Astrobeam. And it's a beauty at dusk!
Q: So we can assume you are happy with the end results of this rocket?
A: You bet! Very little assembly is required and that's the way I designed it. It gets you on the flying fast. And the colorful light show is just an added bonus!

Mean Machine™

The Mean Machine stands over a staggering 6 foot (2 m) tall, which can be a handful to transport to the launch site. The clever rocket designers at Estes recognized this problem and developed a unique, twist lock connector set that allows you to take your rocket apart in the middle for easy transport to and from the launch field.

This legendary rocket is a Skill Level 2 kit which can be assembled and painted in just about a day. The complete kit includes four matching body tubes, a molded plastic twist lock connector set, laser cut balsa fins, sleek molded plastic nose cone and a distinctive waterslide decal. The high performance rocket can be flown on our powerful E or D engines with the included engine spacer. When flown on our powerful E engine, the rocket can reach launch heights well over 900 feet (274 m) and is easily recovered by a colorful 24 inch (61 cm) preassembled parachute.

This rocket kit is another of the favorite classics that no model rocket enthusiast should be without! With the twist connector system, transporting this high performance giant is super easy. As the name implies, the Mean Machine is a huge rocket with attitude and performance to match! Get yours today and fly it tomorrow!

Requires more skill in building and painting. Building tools, finishing supplies, Estes engines and launch supplies also required - sold separately. E engine launches require an Estes Porta-Pad E Launch Pad, E Launch Controller and a 3/16 inch (5 mm) Maxi Launch Rod - sold separately. Recommended for ages 18 and up with adult supervision for those under 18.
