Q: The Astrobeam appears to be quite a different rocket. Why is that?
A: Well, first of all, this rocket has bright LED lights built right on board. Not too many rockets out there "light up" and have five different light shows to choose from.
Q: That definitely sets it apart from other rockets. Why did you create a rocket with lights?
A: Being a true rocketeer and being in a rocket club, we always talked about how someone should create a rocket that was simple to build and could be launched at dusk.
Q: So you took the challenge?
A: Sure, I'm always up for a challenge, and besides I had a great time designing the Astrobeam. And it's a beauty at dusk!

He really doesn't want them, upset he has to wear them, and we're constantly having to find where he sat them down. We're hoping he get's used to having them soon.

He's definately able to write better, and reading is much easier now. We think things will get even better as he gets used to them.

Matt's New Wheelchair

What a busy day yesterday was! On his second day of school, Matt woke up and could not use his left leg. He was in so much pain he could not even support himself enough to go to the bathroom. After spending the entire day in hospitals, specialists and driving all over, we finally found out what was wrong. Luckilly, it's just an infection, and he will get better. He will be missing a week or two of school, but other than that will be just fine. I think the hardest part will be him not being able to RUN or walk at all for a week or two!

Thursday night was Matt's Pre-K Graduation! It was so great to see him get that diploma. Video is here, but pictures are coming. We accidentally forgot to bring the memory stick for the camera, but another parent took pics for us and promised to send them to us shortly. We'll update with pictures as soon as possible.

Friday night, we met with a photographer to take some family portraits. Adam has always been fascinated with photography, so he was taking as many pictures as possible, paying close attention to how the photographer did things. Here are a few of Adam's pictures. We'll update with pics from the OTHER photographer later when he gets them ready.

Just got back from a fun weekend camping with the cub scouts! We had a great camp out a Camp Wisdom. Lots of things for the kids to explore and enjoy. Pirate Ships, Man made cave, a plane, archery range, BB gun range, castle, Cowboy & Indian fort etc. We didn't get to everything this one camp out, but here's a few pictures of some of the things we did.

We started with our first soccer games of the season for Ben and Matt.

Drunk Martha Stewart
Only I hadn't had any booze! I swear!

Adam wanted a chocolate cake with blue icing. But instead of bright blue, all we could get was a pretty Martha Stewart Robin's Egg Blue. No problem! (Adam has such a great attitude!) Let's put sprinkles on it! But the sprinkles we put on looked like Martha Stewart clear glitter. WAYYYY too feminine for a 8 year old BOY! And then a few minutes later we find the cake has said SCREW YOU MARTHA WANNABE!, and fallen apart.

The Vanilla cake isn't much better. It's supposed to be bright green, but instead is a pretty spring day flower color. Green sprinkles help, but it's still too froo-froo.

One quick call to the sims and asked them to pick up a boyish cake on the way over. Sims to the rescue! Whew! Girlie cake crisis averted!

Half the kids decided to sleep inside, the other half were determined to sleep in the tent. By 11pm, every kid EXCEPT ADAM was inside. Adam was sound asleep, and as hard as everyone TRIED to wake him, he just wouldn't wake up. So he's the only kid that made it all night in the tent. He had no idea they'd left until they woke him up the next morning.

All kids were asleep by midnight. WOOHOO!

We're gonna ask ransom for this kid.

Adam has his friends convinced that the racetrack is always on our dining room table. Cause we're cool parents.

Nothing like a early morning game of Football. In the front yard. In pajamas.

Overall, the party was a big success! Nobody wanted to go home, even at pickup time! And Adam said it was the best party yet!

After a frustrating afternoon of being FORCED to do homework before playing, and lots of pouting, and whining, and GRIPING, he was finally released into the wilds of the backyard.

On his way out the door, he announced, "MOM! I'M MOVING OUT! I'm moving into the backyard into my OWN cardboard house!!!"

Oh, he had the look of an (almost) 8 year old with PLANS. He wasn't going to live with an annoying mother who is on his case to do HOMEWORK! He's too OLD for that kind of treatment, you know!

Well, Dana managed to find someone local getting rid of a slot car set. Lots of track a few cars and some accessory goodies. The boys are loving it. Already wanting to spend their money on new cars and such. Check it out. (click pics to make them bigger)

We were shocked Matt placed so well. David kinda threw his car together at the last minute, just so he could enter one. (Matt had no interest in helping, except for the decorating part)

David won the 3rd Place Trophy for Family Division

It was a difficult moment when David and Matt were called up front to recieve trophies. Ben was heartbroken. Ben didn't want the trophy unless he earned it fairly, but he was so sad he didn't win. Luckilly, when we got home, David and Ben had a remach at home, and Ben won the trophy fair and square.

Yes, Ben's wearing a tiger cub uniform. Someone gave him a uniform that their son had outgrown for when he starts cub scouts (August). He insisted on wearing it for the picture. LOL
